One of the most beloved and influential figures in the history of popular music, Smokey Robinson, appears in a new show called “Up Close and Personal.” In this unique performance Smokey will connect directly with the audience answering questions, playing requested songs and telling the stories behind the man and the music
Robinson has received numerous awards in his long career in the business including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, a Grammy Award for “Best R&B Performance, Male,” and the Soul Train Music Award for Career Achievement. He has been inducted into the Songwriter Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has also received the prestigious Rhythm and Soul Heritage Award from ASCAP. He is the satin voice behind such mega hits as “Shop Around,” “Tears of a Clown,” “I Second That Emotion” and many others. And he is the sterling pen behind Marvin Gaye’s “”I’ll Be Doggone,” The Temptations “My Girl,” The Way You Do the Things You Do,” and Mary Wells’ “My Guy.”
Rescheduled Event
Unfortunately, Mr. Robinson's management has informed us that he is suffering from swollen vocal chords and is unable to perform as scheduled on Friday, May 10th. We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused -- and are pleased that we have been able to reschedule the show to Sunday, July 21st at 7:00pm.
