Vacaville Concert Society presents:
North Bay Opera Theatre Ensemble
NBOTE, renown for its eclectic, entertaining, and sometimes
electrifying repertoire, will present “Classical Crossovers,” featuring
music adapted and transformed into a popular musical genre— for
better or for worse. Selections include music originally composed
by Dvorak, Rachmaninov, Tschaikovsky, Puccini, Bizet, Offenbach,
Richard Strauss—and yes—even Ponchielli. The concert
will also feature novelty pieces set in a classical form by
popular composers.
Directed and accompanied by the incomparable
Sam Schieber of Sacramento, the concert will feature NBOTE’s
sixty-voice chorus and solos by some of its most glorious and
notorious members. |

Solano Heart Gallery presents:
VOENA in “Voices of Peace”
The Solano Heart Gallery is an extraordinary photographic
art exhibit that features children in foster care who are
waiting for an adoptive family and have had difficulty in
finding a loving and stable home. The Solano Heart Gallery
is proud to present VOENA (Voices of Eve ‘N Angels)
in an extraordinary effort to raise funds in support of their
cause. VOENA is comprised of 100+ voices ranging in age from
6 to 18. They achieve rich and inventive a cappella vocal
arrangements by using multiple percussion instruments, dance,
theatrical elements while singing music in up to 20 languages
and dialects. Voices of Peace is a magical tribute to the
timeless classics of the world. VOENA has become "The
White House Favorites" having performed multiple times
for Presidents Bush and Clinton including the 2003 and 2005
Pageants of Peace, Lighting of the National Christmas Tree.

City of Vacaville presents:
Los Lobos
During their twenty-five years together, Los Lobos has emerged
as one of the most respected and original bands around. Combining
rock, folk, blues, R & B, country, and Tex-Mex with traditional
Mexican music, they've continually tried new sounds and confounded
anyone who tried to classify them. Los Lobos got their start
in the early 1970s as a wedding band from East Los Angeles.
They went on to earn the first of several Grammy Awards with "And
Time to Dance" in 1983. Los Lobos hit big with number
one hit single "La Bamba" in 1987. The band recently
released a two-CD compilation, "Just Another Band from
East L.A. - A Compilation."
